What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy? The terms are often used interchangeably although psychotherapy may refer to longer term work on recurring issues.
How many sessions will I need? Some people require just a few sessions whilst others work for longer depending on your personal needs. You are free to end the sessions whenever you choose. I am very ethical in the way I work and we would review therapeutic progress on a regular basis to ensure it is still what you need and require.
How long and what frequency are the sessions? Generally sessions last 1 hour and are once per week although this can be flexible and adjusted to your needs. Are sessions confidential? Yes. All my counselling sessions are confidential. However there are some legal and ethical exceptions which will be discussed further with you in our initial session.
